CHOUDRANT, La. - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns golf team is set to travel to Choudrant, La., to compete at the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Intercollegiate. The tournament set for Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 18 will be played at the Squire Creek Country Club.
The tournament will be a 54-hole contest, with a 36-hole shotgun start on Monday followed by 18-holes on Tuesday. Par for the 7,105-yard course is 72.
The Ragin' Cajuns will have some stiff competition at the tournament including tournament host Louisiana Tech. The Cajuns will tee off against Sun Belt foes Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, New Orleans, North Texas South Alabama and Western Kentucky. Rounding out the 20-team tournament are Centenary, Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern Mississippi, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Arlington and Tulane.
In the Cajuns last outing, the golf team finished tied for 11th at the Missouri Bluffs Intercollegiate in St. Charles, Mo., Oct. 10-11.
Individually for UL, the Cajuns were led by a trio of sophomores. Morgan Landry tied for 30th, while Michael Smith and Justin Lowe tied for 36th.
