UL Football UL positive thread after WKU smackdown...

Yeah, we lost and played like cr@p, but we still are 6-2 and have qualified for a bowl game. With a couple of wins in our last four games, we can finish strong with an 8-4 record, something we can be proud of. We still have an excellent coaching staff and young players with plenty of experience for next season and beyond. Plus, Hud shouldn't have too much trouble selling potential recruits that they can play early and often here. All he has to show them is the fricken WKU game video for proof that there will be plenty of room to break into the starting lineup next season.

Anybody else got positive things to add or list?

Nothing to add "yet" except to say thanks.

Thanks to you for this thread.

Thanks to the team for the 6 game win streak.

This loss should bring the team back down to reality. This may be a blessing in disguise. It's hard not to get a little full of yourself if you're on a team that has had it's best start in 20+ years.

Perhaps it helps us hide Hud for another year.

I hope that MT does because I'm tired of grabbing for the brass ring and it's just out of our reach. A true championship team will rebound from this. We will find out. To be continued...................

I KNOW WE ALL WANTED TO RUN THE TABLE BUT YOU HAD TO FIGURE THAT WE WERE GONNA LOOSE ONE MORE GAME SOMETIME THIS SEASON, SO THIS WAS IT. I’LL TAKE 6 AND 2. The young players will learn from this and we will celebrate many future victories with coach Hud and this group of up and coming young stars.
    GO CAJUNS!

This exact thought crossed my mind right before the game ended.

I like your way of thinking. No one likes to lose any game, especially when you're pumped up on a six-game winning streak. These are young kids we're talking about here, and maybe they were laboring today from a false sense of security. Now is their chance to show the world what they are really made of.

I have always lived my life with the belief that the measure of a man is how he responds to adversity. Hell, it's easy to respond when good things abound all around you. But a real man can learn a heck of a lot about himself when tragedy strikes him, his family or his surroundings.

Likewise, a true fan, like the player, can learn a good deal about himself when his team gets a major smackdown like we did today against WKU. I've been a Ragin Cajun fan since the 1950s and there are many here who have supported this university even longer. I challenge the REAL CAJUN FANS everywhere to support our team at this time when they need us the most.

Heck, anyone can support a winner. It has, and might continue to be, tough to be a diehard Ragin Cajun fan. We aren't Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama or even La.A&MC@Baton Rouge. But heck, I don't want to be fans of them, anyway. Wins are fewer, but when they come, they sure are sweeter.

But when OUR TIME does arrive, and I actually believe it will be soon, we will feel that much better for never having deserted our UL Ragin Cajun team when it really needed us the most.

    GO UL!!!

Positive: WKU no longer needs our help with any of their various losing streaks, so we own them going forward. It seems to me that there is a lot of parity right now in the Sunbelt. The team that gets the tipped balls and whatnot wins. Cajuns got a lot of that over the last six weeks. WKU's day today and they made it count.
