Dude season is far from over our goals are all still in front of us
Oh...and to make matters worse, we got beat up by a team in old school unis. Those same old school unis have attracted the top SBC recruiting classes for the past two years.
This I agree with. However, I would like to "pose" a few questions. Were we using a defensive rotation similar to the one we've been using during our win streak or were we just playing the same guys up front all night? Were we blitzing or just laying back in two deep zone? One thing I've noticed about our guys. In a game like this, if they've got man most of the time & they know who they're assigned to cover they can play. This way, you put pressure on their QB by bringing an extra guy from different angles. Now, if UL was doing that during the game, wouldn't Jay & Steve have wanted to mention it?
If the coaching staff has a plan for the season that includes them taking a week off & choosing another time to pick our battles, then I'm all for it. But barring that as a strategy, I have to say I am somewhat disappointed in our decisions not to be more aggressive. As I have been reminded so many times while reading certain posts, we haven't achieved anything yet. If so, then what are we doing, taking out foot off the gas, when the message to the boys is keep your foot on the gas? I am simply refering to the decision to take the field goal instead of mashingthe ball down their throats in the first quarter. If you fail, then you depend on your defense for a safety or to hold them deep & you get the ball back in good shape. If our boys can't make it or hold them then we need new boys. If you don't give them the chance, then how do you ever know what they can do when the pressure's on? I don't mean to sound overly critical, but this should be a learning process for all involved.
Thats just what I was thinking in the fourth quarter. Lucey is back right on schedule. S---
Does anyone know what time our boys are expected to arrive back at the airport? Does what time does the Airport Bar close?
