You're right Z. It looks like we should be NCAA bound. Then..........Omaha here we come.

That makes 3 games in a row where we enter the 4th quarter tied or with the lead and lose. What gives with the poor 4th Q? Last time it was the defense played well for 3 quarters but the offense kept putting them back on the field. This week the offense controls the time of possession but the D still collapses in the 4th Q. I know the turnovers and bone-head penalties (not to mention 2 missed extra points!) were the the main reasons for our downfall. But somehow they have to learn to be mentally tougher to over-come the mistakes. Sounds a bit like conditioning may be a problem. When you're tired, you make more mistakes. I'm very disappointed, but at least the team keeps fighting and not giving up.

I think you hit one of the nails on the head in regard to conditioning, both physically and mentally.

Well, as tough as it is on us, the fans, you know its even tougher on those young men. Learning how to win, how to close out games, is the difference between 2-9, 3-8 type seasons and doing what we want.....win this conference and go to a bowl. It looks like we have the talent on offense to win; but we can't stop anyone down the stretch. Are we that thin on defense? I really don't know; but what I do know is that I'll continue to support this team. That's what alumni and real fans do. As long as they don't give up on themselves, I won't give up on them. In the disappointment immediately following the game I wonder if I'll make the drive to Lafayette; but the next morning I come to my senses and realize that I really need to.
So, see you guys at Homecoming.
    Shof
