Let's be realistic here. EVERYONE no matter what their profession is works to move up......coaches are no exception. Coach Huspeth is doing an incredible job but bottom line is whether it be 2 years, 3 or 4 years he will leave because isn't that what you would want for him? Just enjoy the time that he is here, what he is doing for our players, UL and your community. In the end he will have changed UL football forever and deserves a chance to move up and on. Thats what life is all about.

Yes. I hope he uses the hell out of us. Turns us into THE southern mid major power, then parlays that into millions from an SEC school. Ultimate win-win.

The name you are introduced as, is how you will be remembered.
UL has hired a nationally recognized marketing and communcations firm located in Chicago and Washington, DC to lead our branding effort and to help position us on a national stage. Everything is coming together.

    Now I'm really worried.

Their type is what led to the pepper. The pepper concept goes back to a 1983 ticket drive, which was successful but that doesn't mean it should be your identity.

I prefer open competion on matters like this.

Actually, I want and wish HUD follows in the footsteps of Gary Patterson @ TCU, Chris Peterson @ Boise, and Kyle Whittingham @ Utah has decided to do. They have all had much better offers as a HC but chose to stay where they are because they built a dynasty and the result is all the money they need. With that being said I doubt he would do that, but one can always hope. I also hope he stays for his entire contract.

ESPN has a database compiled from all the college adminstration and/or athletics departments on what the name of the school is or variation of that name (i.e. abbreviation), and that is the source for their reporters.

My thoughts exactly. Think of the coaches that did well at schools and left for the greener BCS pastures, only to fail and HOPE to get a head job like they had before. The former coach at Boise State who went to Colorado is one that comes to mind. Coach Rodrigue leaving his gold mine in West Virginia for Michigan is another failure, and WVU is already a BCS program. There are many others. Our own women's basketball coach left for Cincinnati and he personally told me it was the worse move he ever made and desparately wanted back in at UL. There is so much untapped potential at UL and in Lafayette. Coach Hud recognizes that and just may be able to do here what Patterson, Peterson, Whittingham and even Coach Beamer at VA Tech have been able to accomplish. We'll see.

I gotta disagree with you Turb (and please accept my most humble apologies) but we haven't won anything yet. We are winning; the bowl game itself is where a lot of this name stuff can be rectified. This year will carry a LOT of weight into next year where I expect to see a lot less ULL's and more LOUISIANA'S.

You can't close your survey until a large enough sample size is taken.
