He is a former Mississippi State passing-game offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach and the former North Alabama head coach, where he went 66-21 overall. His offense at North Alabama averaged 35 points and attendance increased by 122 percent during his tenure, according to the Cajuns’ website. Tulane could certainly use more points and fans.

Hudspeth succeeded Rickey Bustle, who is Tulane’s quarterbacks coach. Hudspeth is off to a 6-1 start for the Cajuns this season.

Their beat writer was just throwing out names. Hud is not going there. Word is Tulane wants Rich Rod. Also a lot of local support for LSU recruiting coordinator and NOLA native Frank Wilson. Wilson would be a mistake imho.

When you say Wilson would be a mistake, do you mean on Tulane's part for hiring him, or on his part for taking the job? The reason I ask is because I've heard his name come up a lot when people are talking about who Tulane SHOULDN'T hire. I'm not a Tulane fan, but I couldn't disagree more. I think Wilson would be an awesome hire considering his reputation as a recruiter - and him being NOLA. If anything, I think it would be a mistake on his part. Tulane is at a recruiting disadvantage with their support base and admissions standards.

I think it is a bad fit. Tulane should use the same criteria UL used for hiring a coach. Wilson does not meet that criteria.

I would say it would be Wilson's mistake to take the job. The only way Toolame athletics will EVER be successful again is to get rid of SCOTT COWEN and replace him with someone who'll be willing to support athletics. The problem goes well beyond that over there, though, because the entire culture of that University is now against athletics.
