If this is the same article I read earlier on the Advocate notice how Hud's quotes are altered everytime he mentions our university's name. So much for journalistic integrity.

I'm pretty sure this same "journalistic integrity" is used every time someone from outside of the university uses a third "L", or "Lafayette", when referring to the school's name. It is immediately changed and published as UL or Louisiana.

Then let that be the barometer. The Advertiser got on board, despite its Gannett affiliation. ESPN and other national media outlets are coming around. It shouldn't surprise you that The Advocate is the media Alamo on this issue. If we want it, and our voice gets big enough, we'll get it.

"Make them say your name! What's my name on 3...1, 2, 3, WHAT'S MY NAME!!"

This is a fan message board, dip____, not a journalism site. There is a difference. Go ____ yourself.

Mature response, but I was referring to local newspapers, not message boards.

Can only speak for myself, but I never changed ULL to UL or Louisiana while covering the Cajuns. And I wrote the vast majority of the Cajuns stories.

You know, when I reprinted the LSU press release when we beat State in baseball, I changed Manieri's quotes to UL & University of Louisiana: http://ultoday.com/node/3405

Tiger Droppings went nuts. Made that article #2 all-time on our website, only the Humane Society piece has drawn more: http://ultoday.com/node/440

    Gotta love the tiggrs.

Well then you would be wrong there as well. The DA does not change people's quotes.

I doubt Carl wants you throwing facts into his discussion, Josh. But I appreciate them.

What would happen if in an interview HUD would tell Little Bobby in a quote that it is EXTREMELY unprofessional to change a quote and expects to be quoted accurately ----If he cannot do so then quote something like this---"We at UL want to be called UL when we are in athletic competition---ULL has never been approved for use nor will it ever be approved"---and mention his name--Bobby I am saying only UL Will you use some professionalism or be banned from our media????
