Any info on where to stay, places to eat, things to see & do type stuff? Is there a place where visitors gather to get stoked about the game?

I'll be driving in from where I'm working in southern Illinois to bowling green that morning, but since it's a 3 o'clock game I'll be returning that evening.
I am not going to WKU (will be in Murfreesboro next weekend though) but I know the area. The Corvette museum is located there, After that, it slims quickly for things to do. You will get most of your chain restaurants there as BG is a regional hub for that area. BG is about 1.5 hours from Nashville. You will find much more to do there. Also if you are flying in, Nashville (BNA) is where you want to fly into.
You'll find the folks in BG to be pretty friendly folks. Crawfish named a couple of places to eat and I concur that Judy's Castle for breakfast is a good choice. And, I love the Montana Grille. Their jalapeno cornbread and steaks with real mashed potatoes are the deal.
Someplace to stay might be tough since it's their homecoming. The best places are the Holiday Inn University Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott which are all within walking distance from each other (and the Montana Grille).
Before the game, just walk around and go and visit. As I said, they've got some really nice folks up there. They'll probably want to talk hoops rather than football, though. THAT is a basketball school.
If you are going to WKU and are a golfer, bring your clubs. The Kenny Perry golf is the course to play. It is located in Franklin, Kentucky just off I-65. Exit 2. Franklin, KY also has several antique shops.
