    Default Dang, I started another attendance thread

    I was browsing through box scores from last saturday and looking at a few attendance numbers to compare a little, Which by the way we're kickin' butt in the mid majors... anyway i noticed we were the only school really over capacity last week. It got me wondering..........

    The southern game from 2009= 41,347
    Cajun Field capacity = 31,000

    Thats = 133% capacity.

    That has to be the all time NCAA football record for percent to capacity.

    I can't think of another stadium that can hold 1/3 over it's seating capacity?

    i know i remember reading a thread somewhere...another attendance thread...about our revenue and what have you.

    anyone have an idea on last years numbers with that stuff? (attendance total and avg ticket costs, approx concessions sales, etc...) im sure we have to being doing MUCH better than any other season in actual $$ brought in per game.

    I know that I was over in the vendor area buying a $50 shirt with a lot of other people lined up at 4 registers. It looked to me like they were raking in about $100 every 30 seconds.

    I ran the numbers just recently, we averaged 17,383 people last season per game, at a rough estimate of 18$ per person (thats average ticket price, I went with it because students pay nothing, but others will pay more so I figure 18 is a nice fair middle ground, but none of this is considering concessions because I'm not privey to those numbers) that comes out to about $1,564,470 total in revenue last season for all 5 home games, thats nice, but if we manage to hit the 30,000 avg per game (we only need a crowd of around 32,000 to achieve that), then our total revenue would end up being roughly $2,700,000, which would come out to an extra $1,135,530. That my friends is a HUGE chunk of change and PROVES why it is important to spend money wisely on good coaching hires. While we spent some extra money to get Hud here, HE BROUGHT US over an extra million dollars in revenue WITHOUT having to go on the road for an extra money game....Isn't having a winning program nice?
