    I am also worried.
I am confident that we have the best IN SHAPE athletes in the sunbelt and all of our games will be won in the second half due to this.
You also have to take into account that NFL home field atmosphere is NOTHING like Sun Belt home field atmosphere, so far anything close to home field atmosphere taking a huge 12th man effect would be OUR HOME FIELD. I just hope our guys didn't take that for granted and will realize that every game after this will be a battle. Nothing is a given.

This just isnt true. The past was different. We had 1 bowl tie in, therefore since we werent conference champs, we did not get the SBC bowl, so we had to fight with other teams for secondary bowls. The difference now being, as long as there's the conference champs and us at 6+ wins, we'll get the NO Bowl and the Godaddy.com bowl will have the champs.

Also, we still have the secondary bowl tie ins that will likely be free due to the SEC being avg this year. And again, until last year I believe, we were below 7 win teams in the pecking order, so we had fewer openings and had to fight it out with other 6 win teams. You're chances were much worse of finding that bowl. That also means being at 7 wins is exactly the same as 6. 8 wins would be a better mark. Plus we have better attendance than almost any other team we'll be fighting with for a bowl, not necessarily true in the past.

Obviously a 5 gm losing streak would be devastating, but enough of the preaching. This team is not going to give up. They're not settling. We're not settling. The only reason people are talking about bowls now is because we've hit a milestone. Since the rules of college football have changed since those previous disappointments, its a legit milestone. We're not going to only win 6 games, but that doesnt mean we cant be excited for hitting this point.

the question isnt about this year... its a general question about 6 wins
And I would put money on if for some unGodly reason a team with 6-1 in the Sun Belt conference would lose 5 straight games to end the season, that said team would not make it to a bowl game.

Comments about the past being different were wrong. What you mention is different circumstances and one that I could believe.

That's exactly correct. We still have a lot of the season ahead of us. These knuckleheads that act as if we're throttling back to a coasting speed because of 6 wins are just that... knuckleheads. I'm getting tired of all this silliness. The team is battling under the direction of Coach Hudspeth... not one of the testosterone deficient males on here.

6 wins and we are in the New Orleans Bowl, therefore we are in the New Orleans bowl.

6 wins at the end of the season and this board is in nuclear meltdown mode. We will get a few more wins and we will be in the New Orleans Bowl.

That game and the year before when we went to Troy and it was like 15 degrees.. Probably the 2 most miserable games I've ever attended.

You know, last year UL overlooked WKU. There was no excuse for that loss, but it was almost understandable, WKU had the nations longest losing streak at the time, but because of that edge they walked out of Louisiana with a win.

Right now, UL has the 2nd longest in-season win streak in the Nation, the bulls eye on their back has never been bigger.

I just hope they can make the transition from a month of home comfy, to the hostile road environment, and come out of it with a win to put on the mantle. I think they will succeed, but I'm still worried.
You may have good reason to be worried. The latest line is only 3 points: http://ultoday.com/node/sports-headlines
