Thread: Would you consider 8-4 or 9-3 a let down??

UL Football Would you consider 8-4 or 9-3 a let down??

I'm curious what everyone else thinks about the last 5 games of this season... Looking at the schedule remaining, Ark State is the only team above .500, but 4 of the last 5 are on the road. So the question is, what's more important? The quality of the opponent, or where we will play them?

We should be the favorite in every game with the exception of Arkansas State, so would 8-4 or 9-3 be considered a let down? I am going to say that finishing 3-2 or better is good (of course I'm hoping for 5-0). Let the record show that I truly believe that it's very possible to run the table...

    Your thoughts?

I think having 4 out of 5 on the road, we will slip up. 3-2 is about what I'd expect. From years of Cajuns watching, I wouldn't be surprised by anything though. 0-5 to 5-0 wouldn't shock me.

Road wins are hard to come by....

If we get the 1 home game, then 2-2 in the others, then I would be okay with that.

Either way, we would still go to NOLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    +1

That said anything below 8-4 would be a letdown

    HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLL no.

From what i see after 2 more wins this season and we have a great upside and alot more potential
Besides we are 1 more win away from accomplishing one of Hud's goals in winning all home games.
We are 1 more win away from accomplishing one of Hud's goals in Going to a bowl game
All we need to do is hit the top 25 (3 more wins away) and Win the Sunbelt (depends on what we do in the remaining 5 games and more importantly the performance of Ark St)

This season is definitely a success and nowhere near a let down.

I couldn't agree more... Just hearing a few guys on the radio got me to wondering what the rest of the fan base was thinking.

Personally, I'm 100% impressed, and think if we win the next two road games, fans can come to Cajun Field and watch a Top 25 team play football against ULM.

Glad you see it the same way I do raginwaldo

8-4 would be slight disappointment (hard to even type that) on a go forward basis but still a wonderful accomplishment overall. 9-3 seems the most likely scenario in my mind. The one wildcard in all of this talk is injuries. To this point Butler is the only one I can think of that was expected to contribute significantly who is out for the season. Can that continue? Will injuries cost us a game or 2? Let's hope not!

One game at a time. If we continue to play with the same focus and intensity that we have been our recoded over the last five games will take care of itself. But we need to continue to get better and better each week. I want to win every game we have left, but the next three IMO are the most important. Beat WKU & MT on the road and we have ULM at home in front of a sellout crowd and we will have the Sunbelt crown wrapped up if we win those three games.

But to answer the actual question if we win 8 games then I'll be happy! Anything less I'll be very disappointed.

Looking at the remaining schedule, the two toughest games (or should be) are our last two. I would hate to go to a bowl game on a two game losing streak. I think one of the last two are a must win. Having said that, 8-4 or 9-3 would be just fine!!

    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!

I don't like the topic so I am going find a video on suspended animation and am locking in the feeling I have at 6-1

I think it will be hard to be in the top 25 even with 2 more wins, but for the sake of argument let's say that happens. Then that would be the 3rd time a ranked team has played at Cajun Field and the 1st time we have been the ranked team? Is that correct?
