I have supported Ricky Bustle since the day he was hired and always thought he was the right man to turn the football program around. Well, I was wrong. Nearly four years later, the program is undeniably in better shape than it was when Baldwin left, but that's not saying much. The talent level has risen, but the wins have not come. We are still one of the very worst 1A programs year in, year out.
I've been reluctant to come to this point. I like Bustle and hoped he could get it done. Clearly he cannot. The latest example is a home field pounding by a terrible FAU team. Simply unacceptable.
I don't know what the answer is, but it has become obvious that it's not Ricky Bustle.
There seems to be some on this board that won't tolerate any criticism of the program, responding to anything negative by saying "we don't need fans like you." This is ridiculous. I'm an alum and have supported this program and university for many, many years. I'm not jumping ship. I say this because I want success. The program is going nowhere, 4+ years after Bustle arrived. We don't have to settle for this.
