Another bowl game besides the NO Bowl

No, they don't need to agree. They must be accomodated. Last year as the conference champ, FIU got sent to Detroit. They were not happy. But New Orleans wanted Troy and godaddy.com wanted MT.

We really need to get off this "better bowl" stuff. Once the big bowls are contractually filled, there isn't anything that would be better than New Orleans.

Besides, if you're win-starved fans are going to their first bowl in 41 years, the BEST place to have it is a place where they can go and see their team play. And, have a helluva party all at the same time.

New Orleans is the BEST bowl the Cajuns could have.

I was kinda hoping more for the Sugar Bowl - that's still in New Orleans, right?

Unless a bowl has a raw payout, UL will make money on a bowl based on how many tickets fans buy through the UL Athletic Department.

It's not the MB Bowl. It's still the R&L Carriers Bowl. MB is getting the rights to the Superdome name.

What better way to make a national statement about our fan base than to have 30,000+ from UL at the N.O. Bowl? Our fans will travel to N.O. Not sure about any other cities at this point, particularly if they have to fly.

That's a key point. Whatever bowl game we go to, we should emphasize to everyone that tickets should be bought through UL's athletic department.

Without a doubt. There are many benefits to playing in the NO Bowl for UL... and many benefits to the NO Bowl to have us playing.
