I get what you're saying (I was in POA a while back). I can guarantee you, though, if you've never played in the Superdome before a BIG crowd, you'll WANT to take this SHORT trip!!!

This is my second year in the POA and both years we played at halftime for a saints game....but to play in front of a crowd the is more than likely 80% if not more UL fans, would be simply amazing.

We really need to get off this "better bowl" stuff. Once the big bowls are contractually filled, there isn't anything that would be better than New Orleans.

Besides, if you're win-starved fans are going to their first bowl in 41 years, the BEST place to have it is a place where they can go and see their team play. And, have a helluva party all at the same time.

New Orleans is the BEST bowl the Cajuns could have.
    Without a doubt.

Jay...would it be fair to say that the Cajuns would possibly make a profit on this bowl since travel cost will be low and all tickets will be sold in 5 minutes?

Damn. I was hoping for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Seriously, the names of these bowls are getting stupid. The New Orleans Bowl is one of the few left that doesn't sound ridiculous....yet

It's not the MB Bowl. It's still the R&L Carriers Bowl. MB is getting the rights to the Superdome name.

This part of the equation is where we fans play a big part; the bowls are in this to make money; they make money by having people show up for the games. We keep filling up Cajun Field and bowl committees take notice.

However, New Orleans is by far the BEST place (imo) for us to go! Let's pack that place with red and get this party started!

    I don't know about profit.

But they wouldn't lose much, if anything.

Would a REALLY big crowd possibly increase the take the teams might split? But breaking even or so isn't bad for going to a non-BCS bowl. The Tulane games at the Dome (except for one really bad game) were great with good crowds.
