Things to do at today's UL Game
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
PP&K for $10K. One UL student and one non-student fan will be selected at random to take part in a punt, pass and kick competition at halftime, with a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize.
Get a cool ticket package. Sponsored by The Daily Advertiser, KLFY-TV, Courtesy GMC and McDonald's, fans can purchase four general admission tickets at a 20 percent discount and receive four coupons for free Premium Chicken Select value meals at area McDonald's. Package purchasers also are eligible to win a GMC Canyon to be given away at the end of the year. Information on that package and all tickets is available at 482-2005.
Dance and dine. Tailgating kicks it up a notch, with Geno Delafosse performing live on the Gate A stage from 4 p.m. -6:15 p.m. Fun jumps for the kids will also be available beginning at 4 p.m.
Walk with the Cajuns. UL coach Rickey Bustle invites all fans to make the "Cajun walk" with the team. The UL squad will unload its buses at the Bertrand Drive gate near the Cajun Track/Soccer Complex at 4:45 p.m., and fans can walk with the team down Reinhardt Drive through the tailgate area to the locker room.
March with the band. Fans are invited to follow along or just watch when the UL band, cheerleaders and Ragin' Jazz dance team make the "Ragin' March" next to the stadium and on Reinhardt Drive at 6 p.m.
Say hey to our guests. All hurricane evacuees housing at the Cajundome have been invited free of charge and will be seated in the West side upper deck.
Get free stuff. Blow-up cheer sticks, courtesy of Cox Communications and Q-95 Radio, will be distributed at all gates.
Express yourself. The game's on ESPN Regional (Cox Sports Television locally, channel 27 on the Lafayette cable), so bring your poster signs (no banner signs, please) or show your creativity with body paint.
Parking/Tailgating reminders
Parking gates 1 (next to the track) and 5 (Reinhardt off Cajundome Blvd.) open at 8 a.m. All other parking gates open at noon. Reinhardt Drive closes to traffic at 4:30 p.m. Overflow from parking will be directed to Bourgeois Hall lots and to Blackham Coliseum, so fans can save themselves a walk by arriving early to miss traffic congestion.
All reserved tailgating spots and RV/camper parking spots are sold out. Fans with RV/campers or who want to set up tailgating areas should use the fence line closest to Bertrand Drive on a first-come first-served basis. Fans parking in the limestone lot behind the West side of Cajun Field may only tailgate within their own parking spot and cannot take up other spots.
