UL vs. UCF gametime thread

That INT was a safety, the guy caught the ball at the one, went into the endzone and knelt. The refs were wearing Gold tonight.

As I walked home from the stadium I felt physically ill. To watch the UCF players leave our field with those smug looks made me sick. We need a new DC!!!

No, I have not said this in 4 years, but this lies squarly at the feet of Bustle and his staff. The blitz worked the entire second half...so what do we do in the last 5 minutes when we know they were running the ball...we go into "prevent" defense. The only thing it prevented was a win. We used the timeouts HORRIBLY, even though it was obvious that they were just going to try to run the ball down our throats and kill the clock. Worse yet, we stop them with 15 seconds left, and they are having to run onto the field to try to attempt the field goal quickly, a much better scenario than trying to ice him, and what do we do, we call a timeout, just as the play starts right and give the kicker a chance to kick without as much rush and pressure on him. This was horrible. Congrats to the Knights on a good win, but this game was absolutly winnable.

You have to ask yourself several questions. First, why did it take our Def. Cordinator until the second half to start blitzing the LB's after UCF rang up 21 pts.?Only 1 punt in the first half and one blocked. Second, why when your defense has just given you momentum and you have a 4th and 1 at the 50 yrd line, you punt and take the crowd out of the game?The net gain is 21 yrds.Third, why during the final drive for UCF, your def is still waiting for the call from the Def.Cord while the offense is getting set? Even with the game mismangement, we still had a shot to win.This coaching staff must learn how to win before they can teach our kids how to.
