Yesterday I posted on this board that the Ragin Cagun basketball team have two recruiting prospects on campus for an official visit this weekend. In my post, I said one prospect is from Arkansas and the other prospect is a junior college player playing at a school from Texas.
Some of this information was posted on my SERBB.COM website in a story we did on the two players... But here's the inside scoop on both of the potenital prospects. Both will be inside players. I have seen both players play many times in the last two years.
The high school player is long and rangy, 6'8 SF/P Sr. Arbury Butler from Central HS in Little Rock, Ark. Butler had a very good spring and summer on the AAU circuit.
Arbury played on the Nike Arkansas Wings AAU team based out of Little Rock, Ark. His AAU coach told me on Thursday to be looking out for him to visit the Cajuns this weekend. Arbury made an official visit last weekend to another school high on his list. Arbury is rated by Southeast Regional Basketball Report, as one of the Top-5 players in the 2006 class from the state of Arkansas.
The other player is 6'9 230 juco So. Marcus Hubbard from Palm Beach Lakes HS, FL. Marcus will be a returning starter at Kilgore JC. Marcus is a lean and mean player. Marcus is quite an athelete. He can do so many things well on the basketball court and around the basket. He can also step outside and knock down the 3-point jump shot. Last year Marcus shot a warm 34.6% from behind the 3-point land.
Marcus averaged around 11.0 ppg, and he shot 44.0% from the field. Not bad for this Southeast Regional Basketball Report Top-20 rated juco player this season. Marcus plays in the same junior college league that Mo Barksdale played in last season. By the way, Mo was ranked the third best 3-point shooter in that legaue last season at 40.0% from behind the 3-point line.
Well there you have it, some inside scoop on two players Robert Lee and his staff have a good chance of getting to commit to their basketball program. Both will be very good Div-1 college basketball players. both have several top basketball teams recruiting them.
