    From today's Daily Advertiser

"There's been no contact whatsoever," said Hudspeth, who joined Mississippi State's coaching staff as wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator when Byrne — while athletic director in Starkville at the time — hired Dan Mullen in late 2008 to coach the Bulldogs.

"There's no interest in my part," Hudspeth added. "I am completely happy. My family is part of this Ragin' Cajun family."

I'm freakin out man! this soon and we might already lose our good coach. I was hoping he would stay around at least for 3-5 years.

Marlin was on some lists after last year. It doesn't mean much. I wouldn't worry until after next year....unless a SEC school comes calling (which I doubt)

One thing I have learned after observing many coaches searches throughout the years, is that the first names mentioned almost never ends up with the job. There are many reasons for this; one being the media's penchant to try and guess who will be the coach based on past relationships with the AD or school.

In this case, I think Coach Hud will eventually get a AQ job, but it will probably not be in the PAC12. I would think in order for him to maintain his recruiting ties, he will probably end up somewhere down south. This would make much more sense. He might do fine out there, but would be able to jump start a program faster if the school was located in the south.

Hopefully he will be with us for 3 years or so.

I fully expect Coach Hud to be here until either the Mississippi State job, or the Ole Miss job opens up. You would have to think it would take and SEC job to get him away from here, and he is from that area. Georgia may be one to watch. After they lost the first 2 this season, I think Mark Richt's seat may have gotten extremely hot. They've rebounded a bit, but I think if they have continued struggles over the next couple of years, and we continue the upward climb we're on now, that may be the school that takes him away. GO GEORGIA!!

It would actually be better if it did. First, I dont think the Ole Miss boosters are ready to pay another potentially large buy-out so soon after doing so to get rid of Ed Orgeron. Secondly, you would think (and hope) that an SEC school would like a bit more to go on than one season. That being said, with what Hud has done so far with what he inherited, maybe not. One other thing about the Ole Miss job, and I could be way off on this, but hasnt Houston Nutt done enough in his career to not get run this quickly? It was just 2 years ago that they were 9-3 and beat Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl.

I also believe that Coach Hud wouldnt bolt this soon. He turned down people before taking the job here. I think he saw the potential here and knew what could be done. We can only hope that his competitive juices flow more toward building a dilapidated program into a relative power, and seeing it through, than being in a mad dash to tackle the ultimate goal of competing against the highest level of competition (which will come in due time). We shall see.
