Body Found in Burning Car
In Lafayette, deputies were called to Felix Road at around five in the morning for reports of a car fire.
The vehicle was a blue 1999 Chevrolet Lumina and a body was found in the trunk of the car.
By the time detectives arrived the entire car was completely engulfed in flames.
Once the fire was put out, deputies then found a person in the trunk who was so badly burned they couldn't determine is the person was a man or woman.
Captain Craig Stansbury with Lafayette Sheriff's Department says they may have to rely on forensics to identify the victim.
Detectives are also in the process of trying to find out who the car belongs to.
