We had such a great time Saturday. The rain didn't scare all that many tailgaters away and the game was awesome.
I am telling you my hand was sore from all the high fives!
My brother was in town and hadn't been to a game in years. He had a blast and kept saying how great it was. Because there were many displaced N.O. alums at the game along with people who always go he was able to see and visit with Cajuns he hadn't seen in 20 years and the Cajuns made us all proud again.
We needed a game like that. Hopefully the attendance on 10/1 will be just as good if not better. If Rita stays away from here we should be good to geaux!
Hopefully a little better for the UCF game. I agree that most of the tailgaiters probably went into the game since the rain ended about an hour before kickoff. However, I think the rain combined with the local telecast probably kept more from coming out. Lastly, wish the students would stay a little longer. Seemed to thin out quite a bit after halftime. Did the west side thin out too? I couldn't tell from my seats.Originally Posted by Geaux clotille

Doesn't the student side of the stadium hold something like 12,000? That side looks pretty full. With only 17,000 in attendance, that leaves only 5,000 -7,000 on the double-decked side. Was the game that poorly attended or is this a mis-count?Originally Posted by shof
The middle 4 sections were pretty full; and all that red looked nice. If the student side holds 12,000; I'd estimate they had 7-8,000 there, meaning there was around 10,000 on the west side. I really think the hard rain about an hour and a half before kickoff hurt some; especially since they could stay home and watch the game in the comfort of their home. Someone who was on the east side would have to tell me how the west side looked. The upper deck seemed to have lots of empty seats. We've got 2 weeks to build some excitement for the UCF game; so hopefully that and some nice weather will get us over 20,000 on Oct 1.Originally Posted by SugarLandCajun

If there were only 17,000+ at that game, then someone please explain to me why did I have to park at Blackham? UL needs to have people out their parking cars ALL DAY LONG...their were SO MANY empty spots in the Cajun Field lots, and police would not let anyone in to fill them!!!
Why were there NO buses bringing people to the field? If you are gonna make people park at Blackham, have a bus to bring them to the field!
My 2 cents...other than that...GREAT GAME CAJUNS!!!
What is left of the other side of Congress needs to be reserved for parking growth.Originally Posted by andrepourciau
Here is the upper deck from the corner.
I figured it looked as empty as it felt. I bought a couple of extra tickets before the game for my folks to sit with us. The closest they could get was about 10 rows behind my seats. Needless to say, they sat with us during the game without any problem at all.Originally Posted by andrepourciau
No, it wasn't that full. The middle was packed, but the ends were pretty empty, so that "side" was about 60% full. The upper deck was only about 30% full. I guessed about 17,000 during the game.Originally Posted by SugarLandCajun
I can vouch for CDeb on this one. He came down to my seats and did his estimate and he called it at about 17K. The kid is a wiz!Originally Posted by CDeb
