from the start of this thread up until my current post, I've learned two things: one, hindsight is 20/20, and two, be careful what you ask for you just might get it. :o

    God Bless.

p.s.- looking very much forward to the games in Blackham, even if it's not permanently

UL Basketball Re: Retro night at Blackham?

It will not be a true retro night without the Red Dots. Those "crazies" were something else! I particular liked when they would hold up the scoring cards for a particular play or dunk. Something else, those folks were...memories!!

I will be there & I am looking forward to it. I think the games should be played at the Blackham from now on.

Think Michael Southall will get some boos? I think it will be mixed, but I hope not.

Only by those who have not kept up with the situation.

Then again those who do not keep up with the latest, tend not to be so vocal.

I'm good friends with the guy who does UL baseball and basketball uniforms. If someone would be willing to donate the uniforms he would get a great price for us. Some body get back with me on this. It would be great! We need to get this going and I can do it! I just need some financial help. We could have a retro night and advertise it,maybe for the Mcneese game? As a matter of fact he does Mcneeses uniforms also. We can get Mcneese to participate in the retro game!

UL 1984, 1999 . . . . Re: Will you be there? First Game in Blackham in decades!

Yes he did make mistakes in his life that made him leave this team, but people shouldn't boo him because he's straightening out his life. I would applaud him for giving it this much effort to get his act together and following the strict guidelines that coach Lee set up for him, in order for him to even think about basketball. When people are down and trying to rebuild their life, they shouldn't be booed for it.

Retro night would be awesome, funny, and very odd!!

Could you imagine our team wearing the same uniforms as those 20 years ago!! They wouldn't be able to play ball with their shorts hangin' off their sss.

  9. UL Football Ragin' Cajuns aim for exhibition win

University of Louisiana head coach Robert Lee doesn't care for that "exhibition" game title.

"Any time we go out there, we're going out there to win," Lee said Tuesday. "We're playing to win no matter who we're playing."

That doesn't figure to be a problem Thursday when the Ragin' Cajuns open their 2005-06 men's basketball season in an exhibition contest against NAIA member St. Gregory's of Shawnee, Okla.

Despite losing three All-Sun Belt Conference players, one of whom is now playing with the Boston Celtics, the Cajuns figure to out-man the Cavaliers despite St. Gregory's coming into Blackham Coliseum unbeaten at 2-0.

That's probably why Lee was more excited about playing at venerable Blackham for Thursday's 7 p.m. tipoff, the first of five games the Cajuns are scheduled to play in the facility while hurricane repairs continue at the Cajundome.

"We don't have any idea what it will be like," Lee said of playing in the facility that served as UL's hoops home for over three decades. "None of our players or coaches have ever been in there (for a game). But there's so many memories and so many great moments floating around in there.

"We hope everybody will come out and maybe relive some of that. It should be a lot of fun."

I'll give M. S. a standing "O" when announced. I want him to be "pumped" and help take us to the promised land. Hey, that would be a good nick name..........Cajun Moses

I believe there was a fairly decent sports editorial on the subject of Mr. Southall in today's Vermilion...check it out online.

PS. This sports editorial thing is going to become a weekly ordeal, so be sure to check it out every Wednesday.
