My uncle (at the game) says Southall is lookin pretty good, and so is Rhett Hebert. (with a 25 pt lead, i'm sure the whole team is looki pretty decent). I'll post at end of game when he calls me.

Southall blocked several shots into the stands, caught shots right out the air as they went up with them, got at least 10 rebound and over 10 points, hit some free throws, and slammed a few, made some good passes, and yes missed a couple of easy shots, but Southall is B A C K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maurice Barksdale stole several balls more than four, Ed Turner was smooth as silk with some "3" pointers and some nice moves to the basket. Mo had some good moves to the basket also. Mitchell stole some, slammed some, looked good, Adam James and Ross Mouton looked very good, Mouton recieved technical for hanging on the rim as he finished a Monster slam!!!!
Blackham looks great, game was fun, but like Walker said my BUTT would hurt prior to the end of the game. I appreciate the CajunDome seats!!!!!

Welcome back, Michael Southall.
Playing his first competitive basketball in 32 months, the 6-foot-10 Ragin' Cajun center did a number on outmanned St. Gregory's University Thursday during the University of Louisiana's annual exhibition contest.
By the time it was over, Southall had 23 points on 11-of-17 shooting and added 10 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and four steals. The Cajuns would have won easily even without Southall's return, but with him the 92-53 victory was a foregone conclusion.
"We've never seen size and athleticism like they have," St. Gregory's coach Kevin Morrissey said after Thursday's battle at Blackham Coliseum. "Southall can catch it where he wants, he's got huge hands and he finished well."
"We want to run our offense through Mike," Cajun head coach Robert Lee said. "They didn't really challenge him, but he still gave great effort. We did a good job of getting it inside enough, and that helped Mike get back into a rhythm."
Considering the Cajuns were making their first appearance against outside competition, their offensive rhythm was solid. UL hit 54 percent of its shots and had assists on 19 of 33 baskets with only 12 turnovers against the NAIA Cavaliers.
But Lee was not impressed with his team's defense, and neither were several of the Cajun players.

LOUISIANA La. -- Two years away from basketball apparently hasn't diminished the skills of University of Louisiana's Michael Southall.
The 6-foot-10, 236-pound senior returned to the court for the first time since the 2002-2003 season Thursday and totally dominated play in leading the Ragin' Cajuns to a 92-53 rout of St. Gregory University in ULL's first and only exhibition outing of the season.
"It felt great to be out there again," said Southall, who, in 25 minutes, scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had four assists, four steals and four blocked shots. "We worked really hard in the preseason and the offseason. To have it all come back ... It feels wonderful."
Southall, whose troubles off the court the last two years have been well documented, had 15 of his points and five of his rebounds by the half as the Cajuns started pulling away from the heavily outmanned NAIA-Division Cavaliers (2-1).
UL led 48-23 at the half and increased its lead to as many as 45 in the final 20 minutes.
"We played three Division I programs last year: Texas State, Oral Roberts and Southwest Missouri and we've never seen the size and athleticism that we saw tonight," said Cavaliers coach Kevin Morrissey. "I was really impressed with their size and strength.
"Him (Southall) particulary. We obviously had no one who could answer him."
Southall, who was 11 of 17 from the field, was joined in double figures by teammates Ed Turner (14) and Dwayne Mitchell (13).
Afterward, he gave credit to them and the rest of his ULL teammates for his successful debut.
"They did a great job of getting me the ball for easy baskets," he said.
The performance left everyone at Blackham Coliseum impressed, including teammates.
"He picked up right where he left off; nothing's changed about Michael (game)," said Mitchell of his teammate. "As long as he keeps himself focused, I think we're going to be pretty good.
