Congrats to the players and coaches on the first win of the season! I hope it is the first of many!

I'm not sure if I'm excited or relieved by this win. One thing for sure, I am happy to get this W under our belt. Sounds like our D needs a lot of work. They did make a few big plays, so I have to give them credit for that. But, man, it didn't sound like they were able stop the Demon rushing attack at all. Listening to our game over the opponent's radio station is really the pits. What is up with our "radio network"? It is a joke. Overall the NSU announcers weren't too bad. But all the "Lafayettes" got on my nerves. Also the comment that we have been, for the past 8-10 years, one of the bottom 10 teams in D1-A - to which one of the commentators added "and they still are" - kinda rankled me (even if it is true).

At this stage of the season, I feel that if it is up to offense, we'll win many more games. But our defense will probably cost us some of those possible wins. Through 3 games now I don't remember us actually forcing the other team to punt the ball very often. Even more rare is the 3 & out. This D makes me very nervous. Turnovers and special teams are also areas of concern. The coaching staff has a lot of work to do in the coming weeks. I hope they are up to the task. I think they are. Time will tell.

Just got back from the game, defense was not impressive. In fact I am scared to face a team with talent similar to ours. The offense was ok, I think we are making positive strides. We just need less silly turnovers and more long runs. Some exciting plays, but timely penalties hurt us. If we play a clean offense and get tougher on defense we may have a chance. I felt like we did not play with enough anger. I tired of seeing a team play like a bunch of p@$$ies, lets knock some heads off and hurt some people. The size of our line also worries me. We don't have enough raw talent to make up for our lack of size, I can see that being a problem in the future. Anyway a win is a win, and I love it! Geaux Cajuns!

Well this bottom rung team has beaten them these past two years that we've played. They may have gottone a kick out of calling us "Lafayette" but now that have to go back to Christmas Light City and call us winners again this year.
