Where do you get your research from??? Shouldn't number 1 be STOP THE PASS. they run the ball 25-35 percent and Pass the rest of the time. Do your homework sir. The 2011 front 4 are not the same as the years past and as you saw, stopped Robert Morris to just 80 yds rushing. Yes FIU ran all over us but they have a different game plan. If anything we need to stop the pass....
With 1. being stop the PASS
2. would be stop the run....that would lead to shutting down their offense and dominating on defense.
5. Not just win the turnover battle, but Protect the football and limit the number of Turnovers on offense.
I stated that FAU CAUSED 8 fumbles vs. Mich St, Auburn, and Florida but failed to recover any.
They are capable of causing turnovers and if we weren't careful (Which we weren't) we could lose some fumbles and ints. (which we did) but yes we controlled the game and took home the win.
Against Troy we can't allow as many turnovers as we did against FAU. Troy is a much better football team that is still beatable but we cant have as many mistakes.
Another I would add that you did not is 6. Limit Penalties but stay aggressive.
In the past 5 games we have shown a great amount of aggressiveness but this has also led to unnecessary penalties.
The young guns will have to adjust to the crowd noise, Look at the football, and dont jump offsides too early but attack and be explosive once the ball is snapped. Limit the amount of penalties and dont give up any free yards.
I did my research. The stats I gave from previous games against Troy came from game reports. Didn't you read number one? When they've had success against US, it was because they ran the football against US. We competed when they didn't. I don't care what their stats say so far. They've said the same things in the past.
In past games against Troy, they came into the game throwing much more than running. But against us, they ran.
And, for your information..Robert Morris is a college in Pennsylvania. ALFRED Morris plays for FAU.
Maybe you need to do YOUR homework.
And, I always use five keys. If you want to use six, write your own piece.
"the quarterback must go down and he must go down hard"
yea yea ...alfred morris you get my point.
either way our Front Defensive Line is way better than the past years and have much more aggressiveness. Comparing last years stats to this years team is still irrelevant unless troy would be using their game plans from last year....
But what I think you fail to realize is this in not RICKEY BUSTLE RAGIN CAJUNS and you are still thinking in the same sense that you made that ridiculous 4-8 prediction preseason.
and I said #6 because you failed to mention this in your top 5. so I would make the #6 replace either 3 or 4
I think a big matchup will be our secondary versus their pass game but we've been run on in a couple of games this year. We can't sell out on the pass. If we can make them completely one-dimensional then we'll be able to send some pressure at their qb.
You miss the point.........again.
I know that every team is different. Jesus, I didn't just start doing this yesterday.
But the facts are the facts. When Troy is successful running the football, they win. Period.
And, if they have success running the football against us, they will win again. Period.
Last year we finally kept them from running and had we not turned it over five times, we would have won.
and, as I said earlier, if you want different points in different order, write your own....but don't tell me how to write mine.
Jay, you can't have an opinion. You should know that. None of us can.
I think we will tie on Saturday........
