LOUISIANA La. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football squad will go into Saturday's game against Northwestern State in its best physical shape of the year, if Thursday's practice session is any indication.
The Cajuns wrapped up their week's practice, and virtually every member of what would be the regular dress-out squad went through at least part of Thursday's drills.
The biggest additions come in a place that sorely needs the help, with tackles Jesse Newman and Zach Leger both likely to see some action after missing the first two games with knee injuries.
Newman started all 11 games at right guard as a true freshman last year while Leger played in eight games.
"We're getting some guys healed up," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle, "but they haven't had a lot of reps so we're going to have to spell them a lot.
