If i am not mistaken, we legally must put lafayette in there somewhere. But the Cajundome thing is just ignant!

The Cajundome has always used UL or Louisiana.

If they are going to start using UL Lafayette, this is ridiculous

Can somebody tell me what will happen if we break the rules and don't put "lafayette" in the endzones?

Will the Chief of Name Police bend Dr. Authement over his knee and give him a spanking?

Seriously what could they do to us? My guess would be not a damn thing! Although that spanking sure would be interesting.

The end zone script sounds like the same as last years. now unless they have made the word "Lafayette" larger I would be upset. Time will come when it will be dropped but I believe we have to live with it w/o upsetting our illustrious TIGER RUN state government. If you haven't noticed lately, but LSU is on a publicity run. Everything they do lately is getting there NAME out. In all aspects of our lives, souvenirs, newspaper headlines, the New Orleans Saints,you name it and they have to have their name associated with every bid of this state. When you think of Katrina effecting sports in Louisiana, its the Saints and LSU, not Nicholls or SLU, its them . It makes me sick. So, don't get too upset with Lafayette in the end zone. Remember, Its a great city too.

ULM has Louisiana on their football helmets and played LSU in Baton Rouge last year with that same helmet and nothing happend. After 5 years, it is time for this university to start taking bolder steps athletically with the name Louisiana. We are getting mroe and more entrenched nationally, statewide, and even within our own conference as Louisiana-Lafayette. Only in Lafayette (sometimes) and in this forum and the Delphi forum are we Louisiana. This mixed messages given by the athletic department and the university are creating this and it is time to be consistent about who we are.

suggestion: let's worry about how the team looks PLAYING ON the field, as opposed to how the name looks SPELLED ON the field. my god.
