Thread: Seeking Ticket Donations

    Default Seeking Ticket Donations

I know these are trying times for all of us with Hurricane Katrina. I'm looking for people to make donations of tickets and/or monetary donations to purchase tickets for our clients at Acadiana Recovery Center to attend the UL vs. Northwestern St. game. We need 28 tickets for the game. Unfortunately activities like this are simply not in our budget. Yet, these activities expose people to positive events in our community that we can all enjoy. If you or someone you know is interested please feel free to contact me. Call (337) 291-5400 and ask for Adrian Perron or come by Acadiana Recovery Center, we are located at 401 W. Vermilion St. Lafayette, LA 70501. My email address is aperron@lafayettegov.net and I can be reached there as well. Checks can be made out to Adrian Perron, as I will be purchasing the tickets at the escort rate.

Do you do things like this every year? Every game? I have thought about getting season tickets, even though I can't go to every game since I live in Austin, as my way of contributing to Athletics. I wanted to make sure that I gave unused tickets to someone that will put butts in seats. I would be lucky to make 3 out of 5 home games if I had season tickets.

I try to get our clients out to one or two home games a season. I have been doing this the past 3 years I have been employed at Acadiana Recovery Center.

For "this game" it is my opinion that you SHOULD have no problem getting free tickets from the university.

I was told that tickets have to be "purchased" by a third party to be donated to organizations.

I have heard the stance but, WHY?

Where is the compassion? Empty seats used, don't cost a dime.

Just another case of the University being selfish.

I think it has more to do with NCAA regs.

I was told the tickets are "state property" and thus cannot be given away.

Then if not "tickets" give away "access"

Does the state own access to games?

Seems they would be willing to donate tickets to fill seats. Who knows? I'm still looking for donations.
