Has Bustle EVER lost a game he was supposed to win?

People are coming to the games because there is hope that we are turning the corner..How much longer is that going to last? I dont see that going beyond this season if we don't win more games than last year. People are not going to continue coming no matter what bustle says if we dont show signs of improvement.

Right, This team that played well last year, which was a huge step in the right direction, needs to learn how to win. I'm sorry to say,There isn't a player on this team who knows how to win D-1a football. No one on this roster has seen that consistently. This should be the year to start seeing some W's. I think we win 6 games still and have a winning season, but we will probably need to go undefeated at home. it could happen

The diehards will show up for now; but we need the casual fan to get us in the 20,000's attendance wise. We may have lost a few with this past weekend's performance; but I don't think we lost too many. Hoping lots of fans are ready for a home game and come out to support the team. I certainly hope they play much better than last week. On a personal note, I'm not crazy about driving in from San Antonio to watch "bad football". Too much time on the road and gas is too high; so I certainly hope we make necessary adjustments and perform better. A win would be nice too.

2-0 or 0-2 I will be there at the games. This is a good group of players and they deserve I'll support.

I don't think bustles problem is recruiting at all. If you look at the games the talent is there but it has been silly mistakes that have cost us in our loss's the last two years. I have never been hard on Bustle because he has done a lot for the program as far as getting more butts in the seats and putting a better product on the field. With that said though this has to be a year for this team to produce because if not a lot of people will be on the fire Bustle bandwagon just as quick as they jumped on the I love Bustle bandwagon.

Silly mistakes? No.

Porous defense? Yes

We were last in the league last season against the run. Now, I find THAT silly.

I certainly don't feel any better. I think Bustle needs to look hard at his recruiting and his offensive Coordinator's position. Never have liked his play calling or preparedness. I have been around since the 60s and believe me I can't bragg on Christopal. I think he needs to start looking or else. We have been putting up with talk of enthusiasm for too long. I keep hearing every year , "THis is the year we're gonna turn this program around. Granted we have 9 more games but at the rate we are going, we won't get started til the season is over. I'm not a fan of the current scheme we run. It's sorta modeled after Utah's offense. I heard Coach Bustle say on his radio show today we're having a little difficulty installing the zone option. That's very similar to what the Utes do.

Gimmick offenses often are very productive, but have problems against teams with athletic defenses and good coordinators.

Utah had a Heisman candidate with an excellent arm running their offense.

We don't.

With the current talent we have on offense we would be better served running a true triple option attack.

That is until we have a legitimite "passer" at QB. Then, a pro set much like we ran when Jake was here would be my preference .

In the triple option, the QB is a glorified RB who occasionally fakes and drops back to pass. Jerry Babb is the prototypical option QB. He would have fit in perfectly at Nebraska.

Babb, Fenroy, Wallace, and Rubin are playmakers on offense. So far, Smith and Sampy are the only playmakers at WR as far as I can see.

The offense we run now has variations of the option in it already. I just feel that we should maximize our potential on offense. I think that can only happen with Babb running more than he is now.

I've been thinking about that (Babb running more), and the more I think of it, the more I'm convinced that the coaches are holding him back until Desormeaux gets more experienced. That way they reduce the risk of Babb getting hurt and leaving us with an an inexperienced QB for a potentially large chunk of the season. I think when conference rolls around Babb will be running more.
