god you people are down on everything so quickly, its ridiculous. mental errors cost the cajuns the game. first time Babb and the offense touched the ball they were down 14-0. give it a rest and be optimisitc things will work oout this season if they can just not give up the football.

I think its a combination of both. The players must mature before there talent can be exposed on the field. Couple of examples (Desormeaux & Fenroy). They both will be great players in the coming years but they are both still learning & "maturing". Very, very few players have the ability to start & be huge contributors as freshmen.

    That is true.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

It's just that better line play on both sides of the ball is what is sorely needed. It seems that the glowing examples of "great young players" on this squad are at skill positions.

The DT and LB play is VERY poor. The OL play is average to poor. Ernest and Hodges will leave a big whole on the OL when they leave after this season.

Looking down the roster, I don't see much help on the way for the OL, DL, or the LB's.

This doesnt happen very often, but I can honestly say that I am embarassed to be a UL fan right now. That was just sick. Truly disgusting.

Coach Bustle has signed 94 players since he's been here.

While the team is largely composed of his players, next year will be the first with his full compliment of players.

Still, turnarounds don't magically materialize in year 5 or 6. When a turnaround happens the progress is very evident by year 2 or 3 IMHO.

I think we may be encountering a talent evaluation problem, not a "maturing" problem.

Where would this team be without:
    Bill Sampy
    Greg Hodges
    Eugene Kwarteng
    Mike Moore (All Baldwin signees)

    Marshall delesdernier
    Wes Simon
    Julian Harris
    Tim Falter
    Dwight Lindon(All walk-ons)

That's 9 of the 22 starters last night that were not signed by this staff on signing day.
Thanks for the info. I don't believe in "magic", only hard work.

It doesn't matter if we spot them 14 or not...we will not win any game this year scoring 10 freaking points. We will be lucky to win 4 this year...We have got to be able to COMPETE with teams on our level. We have got to be the worst team in the country right now!! Our guys don't even seem to be prepared to play football. Something is breaking down somewhere. Have we won any game that we were not supposed to win yet? I dont think so. This is sooo dang depressing.

Luv the post and don't agree with the ending. Bustles oldest players are Juniors so I would HOPE that the most players on the field were still experienced Baldwin players.

    I'm with you.

It's rough when ANY team spots another team 7 points much less 14 or 21.

After we were finished spotting 21 points UL played even on the road 10-10

On any other day we win in overtime.

This isn't horse racing. There are no handicapped teams. We don't spot ANYONE points.

You have to be scored on in football. O.K.?

Did you not hear BOP, who I'm sure you trust, say right before halftime that there was not any one thing he could think of that the cajuns did well in the first half?

We were down 21-0 because we were playing like little girls, not because, aw shucks, we just got snookered on them kicks, gosh darn it.

    This is getting REALLY old.

You are 100% right, you do not spot ANYONE points . . .

Not if you want a chance to win.

New member. Born and raised a cajun fan. Almost twice the snaps and total yardage almost a wash. We had a better team. TURNOVERS and special teams. Minumize win those battles and we'll win alot of our remaining games. Just think, If we played EMU the way we played against Texas, We would have won by 2 TD's.(wishful thinking)

Welcome to the best Cajun board around. The only thing that is wishful thinking is finding fans that don't panick when the ball doesn't bounce your way. Wait you are one. Hey here's to wishful thinking, Cajuns win next week.
