State police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found inside a car at a rest stop on Interstate 49, north of Washington.
According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, the car parked at the Dubison Rest Area was reported stolen from a homicide victim in Lafayette. The Advertiser reports (http://bit.ly/mPdYA8 ) the dead man was considered a person of interest in connection to the death of a 46-year-old woman earlier Wednesday.
Troopers believe the man's death was a suicide.
Authorities say sheriff's deputies responded to a report around 1:15 a.m. about an unresponsive woman who was bleeding on the floor of their home. They also said there were "obvious signs a homicide had occurred."
Police have not released the names of either person involved.
