My opinion is that we really haven't focused enough in that area in recruiting, or the current staff simply can't get those guys to come here yet.

Whatever the reason, the level of talent and the level of play in these two areas has to improve, or we will always get pushed around and manhandled by not only Texas, but the better teams in our league.

There is no "attitude" on this team. You can't go into battle when your defensive backs are your toughest players on defense.

Stanley smith, Ross Brupbacher, and Tyler Norman had attitude. Even those guys were relatively weak against the run because we were SO WEAK up front.

We need some big uglies that can stand their ground. We might have to wait ANOTHER year or two before that happens.

I have said it before in other post but the line play is what seperates the top BCS schools from the non-bcs schools. You can look at any level of play from high school through the pros and the depth at o-line and d-line are not that great. It is very hard to find these big guys that can play. Sure we have a problem up front on defense and offense but it is the same problem that everyone else has.

    No more excuses.

If everybody had the same problem, nobody would dominate anyone.

i'm just thankful no one has posted the tired but traditional litany "we would've won except for the turnovers" line so prevalent in the past.

This just in, Texas has scored again

Just kidding. But seriously, we did have some positives. However, we can not make excuses anymore. We have built up soo much momentum over the last couple of years that if we do not have a winning season this year it could truly be devastating to the program.

If we can win the next two games to go 2-1, we should be just fine this year.

    A little bit of reality:

I too, like many of you, was hoping for the impossible to happen, a win over Texas. To tell you the truth, I had almost convinced myself that we would get the upset. While watching the game I found myself becoming angry and thinking that the kids were showing no heart. In fact, it reminded me of the Baldwin years. Then, I changed the channel to Fox news and saw the devastation in NO. How ashamed I was that I was letting a college football game get me so emotional. I turly think that the kids on the team were distracted with what was going on in NO. Especially the NO kids.

It was one game agaisnt a hell of a team. We will bounce back. In the grand scheme of things, it was very insignificant.

The Cajuns only turned the ball over once when a pass went through the hands of a receiver.

I saw a patchwork offensive line, (3rd string at one position) become almost sack proof.

I saw a freshman receiver really have a good day and that is a good thing.

I saw a special teams unit excel against the best athletes in America.

    . . . I saw more good than that.

I'd have to second that! I enjoyed the game atmosphere in Austin; but there were times when I thought the game was being played on a different field. Our seats at UT were quite far from the action and we were not alone. Looking forward to using my seats at Cajun Field!

Thought Fenroy ran HARD! Rubin looked good darting around. Impressed with our young skill players. Without question we will not face another team with the talent and depth of UT. Looking forward to seeing what we can do against more comparable talent. Certainly not giving up on this team.
