Turbine, I wasn't implying it is your job to keep us informed all the time. I usually get updated info from here and if I missed the post, then it is my fault. I don't watch the news and sports like most people, so, if it was annouced on TV then I missed it altogether, nor did I hear it on Jay's show if it was annouced.
    Keep up the good work.

I'd like to see wallace line up in the slot every now and then.. he has enough speed that if he isnt in the backfield, he should be on the field in other ways..

  3. Default Any Newman news

    Can anybody give a report????

  4. UL Football Newman still waits for word

Jesse Newman was on the field on Tuesday, but not the way he wanted it.

The sophomore offensive tackle was on crutches, with wrapping concealing the right knee he injured in last Saturday's scrimmage at Cajun Field - still wondering when he would once again be in action for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns.

"It's the not knowing that bothers me," said Newman, who played 801 snaps in 2004 and is slated as UL's starting left tackle this season. "I couldn't sleep last night, because I thought I would know today, but the doctor was in surgery today and I still don't know."

Doctors performed a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test on Newman's knee after the injury occured, just three days from the end of the scrimmage.

"Yeah," Newman said, "and it was the last day of two-a-days. That makes it tough. I've never known pain like that before."

So Newman waits, along with Cajun coaches eager to know how long they'll be juggling the offensive line.

"We tape 'em up and go," Offensive Coordinator Rob Christophel said. "That's all we can do."

"We're still looking at tackles and guards," Head Coach Rickey Bustle said. "We moved Brandon Cox to left tackle, where he was last year, so he should be able to adjust to moving back.

"We still don't know. I guess you prepare for the worst."

Cox has spent time in a green (idle) jersey on Saturday, and with Newman is considered the bookend of the UL line.

During middle drill action, the first line consisted of Cox at left tackle, left guard Tim Falter, center Greg Hodges, right guard Justin Ernest and right tackle Zach Leger.

"... place kicker Brit Framel plunked one of the team's crane-sitting video crew in the head with a field goal ... "

    That's kind of funny.

That is too funny...I did not know where they had the riser set up at. Does it look like Framel will get a shot a FG's or is the other kicker having a good fall?
