ABBEVILLE, La. (AP) - There's a new, rolling conservation classroom for schools from Cameron Parish to Terrebonne Parish and as far north as Evangeline Parish.
Exhibits about the soil, plants, water, air and animals of Louisiana's wetlands, and about recycling, are housed in a 40-foot-long trailer.
The Vermilion Soil and Water Conservation District unveiled the Conservation Classroom on Wednesday in Abbeville.
Conservation district chairman Ernest Girouard says classroom presentations can be modified to fit teachers' lesson plans.
