Sorry, I do live in another state so I cannot go to every game. I did watch and am not impressed so far. This team has quite a way to go before they have my trust.

If we always support blindly, we will have the same results we have had for the last 15 years. I for one am not willing to do that, so I expect more. Attack me or ignore me if you want, but we want the same thing.

Gautier is much better than Masson

Gautier has the ability to run the football and can escape pressure better. That is the benefit he brings to this offense. However, both he and Masson struggle to pass the ball consistently and effectively. Both fail to go through their progression and tend to lock onto one receiver.

With that said the play of the offensive line needs to improve. Missed blocks and penalties hurt us tonight.

Oh, and this compares? Some of you never seem to amaze me. App State is on another level and had the game of the decade against Michigan. We got smoked by McNeese a couple of years ago and do not compete on a regular basis. We need to up our standards and stop making excuses

The thing you have to understand, and I can see that from a long distance you don't, is that the change has started to happen. You can see and feel it here. Unfortunately, this team doesn't have the necessary talent right now to do more than it has, other than to execute better. But if you noticed a lot of the names that made plays tonight were freshman that Coach Hud has brought in. He needs a couple of years to really stock his players and have some of his upperclassmen. That doesn't mean he won't win in the next couple of years (or even this year, maybe). But the players he has brought in so far, seem like real players. I think Hud has already started to change the culture and bring expectations up. This is NOT the same ole same ole! Try to have patience for another year or 2. If you aren't convinced then, then I won't blame you for abandoning ship.

Masson folds like a cheap lawn chair under any kind of pressure. He's a senior, he's pretty much peaked. The team seems more energized with Blaine, you have to at least notice that.

I think you hit the nail squarely on the head. I think both QBs have been hindered by the O-line play thus far. However, I think tonight, Blaine definitely stepped up and Chris definitely stepped back. I really thought Masson looked a bit flustered and was slow in his decision-making. I didn't think Blaine played great or anything, but he just seemed more comfortable making decisions and picking up yardage. On his long TD pass, neither the throw nor the catch was done smoothly. But it WAS done! I sure hope they get away from running the QB draw/delay so much. But the OL needs to make major strides. They were blown-up on numerous plays. On one play the DL was hitting the RB as the QB was trying to hand-off. I was afraid the DL might actually knock the ball out before the RB really had it. Overall, glad to get the win. The final margin was on the comfortable side, but until the 4th quarter, it never seemed all that comfortable. I did feel good that we had played so poorly at the half, yet we were up by 7. I was thinking Hud was lighting a fire under their tails at halftime. They did play much better in the 2nd half, but still need to improve in a number of areas.

I can agree with that, but at the end of the day our passing game has to improve. Teams looking at us on tape will stack the box and challenge us to pass the ball. They are going to pin their ears back and come at us, our o-line has shown they struggle to handle that kind of pressure.

I think Harris should get the ball anytime a run play is called. IMO, he separated himself from all other runners.
