University of Louisiana basketball great Dwight "Bo" Lamar has died, according to one of his former coaches. He was 74.
Lamar was a two-time national leading scorer and three-time All-American from 1969 to 1973. He earned First Team All-America honors in 1972 and 1973.

During his college career he averaged 31.2 points a game, amassing 3,493 total points. He was the 1972 NCAA scoring champion, averaging 36.3 points per game.
The basketball community is mourning the loss of Dwight “Bo” Lamar, who passed away this morning. Lamar was not only one of the greatest players in the history of the University of Louisiana men’s basketball program, but also a beloved ambassador of the game whose impact was felt from Blackham Coliseum to the professional hardwood.
