That's awesome how the Acme Brick sign no longer has ULL but just UL. I wonder whose idea that was? Lookin forward to a great baseball season.

    Here's an FYI for you.

There was a schedule change (actually a time change) TODAY. The way it works is that Tina sends the schedule.....then they take it to the AD who signs off on it. Then it goes back to the coach for the final signature. Then it is released.

I have had the schedule since the end of last season. And I have seen it changed six different times.....including today.

Heck, right now they still have a game scheduled on Mardi Gras!!

  5. UL Baseball Ragin' Cajuns close in on Fall Ball World Series

LOUISIANA La. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball team will hold its final fall practice as a group today.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the squad will be divided into two groups, and those units will spend the weekend preparing for the annual Red-White Fall World Series that begins Monday at Moore Field.

The seven seniors on the Cajun squad, already divided into two units, will draft the from the remainder of the UL roster this evening to determine teams for the best-of-seven series that begins Monday at 6 p.m.

"We normally learn a lot from the World Series," said UL head coach Tony Robichaux, "but we probably learn just as much from how the teams are drafted. It lets us see how the players see things. We tell them from the start that the draft is important and that the fall workouts earn you the right to be drafted."

Pitcher Jeff Martinez and outfielders John McCarthy and Alex Preciado will head up the White team. Pitcher Brandt Sanders, outfielder Josh Landry and infielder Jameson Parker lead the Red team, with senior transfer pitcher Cody LeBlanc's slot to be determined by a coin flip. Those groups will, in turn, draft their underclassmen teammates.

    Default Fall World Series

Where can I go to get a roster for the games. I haven't even seen a box score on the Universities Web site or in the local fish wrap.

    P.S.

I have been to both games so far and it looks like we will be solid on offense. We have a lot of young excellent talent, and it looks like our overall team speed is the best it has been in years.

Pitching is another story. Moody looked fantastic. Also, there is a Gros that pitched last night and he looks a lot like Andy Gros. Are they related? There was a freshman left hander that pitched on Monday night and he had excellen stuff. Another Andy Gros look alike. Lucroy looks great as does Parker and Landry. Tatford looks like his ankle is injured and he is not swinging the bat well.

I know it is very early, but we should make another run at the regionals this year if the young guys can stay focused and the pitching matures.

I won't be able to make any of the other games. Can anyone scan one and put it on this site? That would be great.
