It's not me. It's not you. It's the overrated NFC Least. Every year, we the people are sold a bill of goods about how powerful this division is & how important every game they play is. When it's said & done they're the one & done league period.

I thought if Harbaugh had an offseason to get the stupid coaching & negativity out of his team he could do this. Not without an offseason. The rams were the least of all evils was the way I saw it. Kind of like the NFC Least.

You cannot come back after the fact and say I would have if! IF you felt that way you could have posed it such in September. You know, ' I would pick the niners but I justthink witout a compete preseason they might still be one year away, but maybe not' I am not calling you a liar, I am saying you cannot come back in December. I did not think the 49's were going to be the number 2 seed. No way this is a passing league, and I give them credit. Too bad the commisioner took away the Steelers big hitter, and they were playing with a crippled quarterback.

I am not making an excuse, I just think the Saints would have benifited and had a better chance had Pittsburg been healthy, compete team. No! I not agree with the current rules. McCoy was a running back who at the last possible second decided he was a defenseless quarterback.

The Saints have nobody to blame except themselves. Long had a field day on Brees just like he did last year. Payton needs to factor in that guy. Now they need to prove they can chart an improbable they did in 2009 when no team ever won a Super Bowl after losing their last three regular season games. Now they need to win probably two in outdoor stadiums.

I don't know if you know this, & I can't believe it myself, but I have been accused of being long winded on my posts. & you want me to go into more detail? It's a tough crowd around here. I can't take any credit for seeing the niners turn around, which any self-respecting football guru should have seen from day one & that's what irritates me. The very guy who helped instigate this thread to the next level, while being totally off base about the Eagles which was just as obvious, still has the niners to hang his gridiron prophetic pride on. Believe me. He will never let me forget it either.

This site is wonderful. Yes there are insane posts and quality posts by the exact same person. No doubt your name implies you will abandon the Cajuns when they fail, and all teams fail. Will you be a bandwagon fan and let the rest do the hard part or will you work to help them through bad times. Your names suggest the latter, and I think that is why you get a lot of greif.

Opinions are the life's blood of a great web site & there is no shortage of those on this site. If you call stepping off the bus when total abysmal lack of leadership by an institution at the highest level combined with blanket accusations against everything & everyone else to excuse one's own lack of effort & achievement, a character flaw, then color me bad. I tend to think of it as a desire for personal emotional survival, which personally, I consider to be intelligent and a mark of strong character.

  7. UL 1984, 1999 . . . . Re: NFL: If you're scared say you're scared:

So you are describing the US Congress. Yea, they fit your discription. I have been totally fustrated by them, and in fact many of my fellow citizens. Yet, never have I decided it is ok to become Swiss, take my savings and go to a country that is always working to not make enemies.

I will say this. I respect your right to abandon totally incompetent administrations. I am not of that family. I will work to save my family, every member of the family regardless of their decision to screw things up. Sometimes tough love is needed. Sometimes you tell the alcoholic no, I won't help you until you take up your share of the work. Still I will help the family. The players are the family, perhaps the president was the alcoholic. I will back the family, and now we have a president who can take a sip of wine without getting bombed. Yes you can have both academics and athletics.

Just saying that may be why you get so much greif, not that your view of how things were is not correct.

But I was never part of the family to begin with. I was simply an interested member of the community, pulling for things to be straightened out, but having to stay on the sidelines until I knew my personal contributions wouldn't be made in vein. That is just good business. Now I have an investment & am vested & would & will do my part to make ceratin that this program continues in the right direction. If that means rabble rousing & drum beating at the irritation of those who love the status quo no mattder how low the bar is set, then once again I will be a bad guy. What I won't do is allow something that I am emotionally invested in to be trashed by those who are short-sighted & incompetent without a hell of a fight.

I also won't let others who have been incompetent lead me astray to where I would hate another fellow citizen's enjoyment of their program (which for all intents is not competitive with this one), to the point that I would not even greet them with the time of day on the street. I would tend to think that for the most part these people make up a HUGE potential source of previously unmined support both emotionally & financially for my program, which would make me want to reach a hand out to them so that any time they would like to climb on board my train, whether for entertainment purposes or because they feel the calling to support, they are welcome. I certainly would not treat them in a manner in which I would not like being treated for having pride in my program.

I buy into you Kyle, and this means Yes it is OK for all who contribute be it money, or personal time to vent hell on the administration, and decision makers but not the players. They bought into whatever our coaches were doing.

I am looking to a future with a Swamp having a new East upper deck with about 8000 more seats, some nice suites, & much bigger concession facilities with another big ticket office. I am also looking for a bunch of mean defensive hombres led by our Breaux Bridge boy. Oh yes. I am already predicting future greatness for Tyren Alexander. Anybody care to go on record & correct me on this. I predict he & Lightfoot will make UL football an extremely violent affair in the future.

Right now you have 8 correct picks to his 6. The Texans will not win the AFC...you can take that to the bank. I doubt the Saints will be able to win on the road, in the elements, much less win two in a row on the road.

So I think you have this thing won Waldo. I guess Kyle misread his NFL prognostication gauges.
