Acadia Parish School System's Website Hacked Over the Weekend

Racially charged and sexually explicit images and words appeared on the Acadia Parish School Board's website Saturday, now an investigation is underway to figure out who posted them.

"We're taking it very seriously," said Superintendent John Bourque.  "The company that hosts the website, they're looking at pass codes, computers and trying to see if they can locate which computer it came from."

While the investigation is ongoing administrative privileges are restricted only to the webmaster.  Typically at least one person at each school had the ability to modify the website.

"We're in the process now of trying to locate who may have done it, and if we do [they're in] big trouble," said Bourque.

So far no criminal complaints have been filed in this case, though that is likely to change following the outcome of the investigation.
