To assume that Masson wouldn't have had any success without having seen him doesn't make sense.

On the other hand, I didn't mean to be so hard on Gauthier. I just felt he wasn't having much success...and we had been led to believe that we would see both QBs, so I kept expecting to see Chris get a shot.

Masson did poorly on that drive. I don't care if it was his first series, I'm going to crucify him. That seems to be the way this board works.

If Masson had started and not done well, would you have allowed me to just say Gauthier couldn't do better...and get away with that? You probably would have said Gauthier deserved a chance.

I agree. He's been average, with some good moments.

I suspect Masson's performance would have been similar.

Thats what he is. Blaine is a good athlete, an average QB capable of a few big plays, but prone to making bad decisions and costly mistakes. He's also inaccurate and wildly inconsistent.
