I'm thinking he was refering to Mitchell... If you are coming in from out of state, you fly into lafayette and anything near by is conisdered part of lafayette.

In Mitchell's case I have a feeling he will be playing pro baseball somewhere. He will probably be drafted high enough that he won't be able to turn down the type of money that will be thrown his way.

  5. Default Re: Recruiting question

Jacob Cutrera LB of Acadiana High School they are interested in.

Saw this today in an article about the new ND guy.

Notre Dame needs a Tim Brown-type talent infusion, the reason Weis spent every day on the road from April 28 through May 27 — almost unheard of in coaching circles.

One day, Weis recounts, "I went from Houston, to Lafayette, Louisiana, to Oklahoma City, to Springdale, Arkansas, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania."

Because the local paper here is ~~~~, no coverage on anyone!!!........Jacob Cutrera is recognized more out of Lafayette than his own home town. I see this kid @ Red's and he is big time material. Jacob doesn't care about the fame & glory he just knocks your ~~~ off the football field.........USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, are still knocking real hard on the Cutrera's door. This kid is special, brother plays at UL.

    SLI 1921-1960 Re: Recruiting question

Just saw where another LA kid verballed to ucla - a DB from NO named Jeremy McGee. They've already got 5 guys from LA on their roster (alot for a school out here) and are in on more.

Could I have you guys do me a favor and have your staff chase those weenies out of your state? Thanks.

Mustain committed yesterday to Arkansas and everyone else on the list are only looking at BCS schools from what I just looked at on rivals.

Mustain also has 4 teammates that have verballed to bcs schools.

WR - Andrew Norman - Arkansas
TE - Ben Cleveland - Florida
WR - Damien Williams - Floirda
OT - Bartley Webb - Notre Dame

Some guys from this area that I would like to see UL go after ...

LB - Trae Fitzgerald - plays at Comeaux High and has started for 3 years...he is a big hitter.

QB - Michael McIver - plays at Lafayette High and sure we are set at QB for a few years but you need to recruit a QB every year in case things don't work out with what you have.

WR - Richie Falgout - also from Lafayette High and Michael McIver's favorite target.

OG - Zhamal Thomas - Plays at New Iberia and is rated as rivals # 11 guard in the country also the 6th best player in the state

DT - Jarrod Shaw - from Northside but according to most sources is leaning towards LSU

I know its tough to turn down a chance to get another quality QB; but I hope we go heavy (no pun intended....OK, yes there is) on OL and DL, and LB. We seem to have picked up some nice speed in this last class and time will tell if they are as good as advertised. Ditto on the recent QB signings. Does anyone know how many scholarships we should have available to offer this year?
