Mid majors....gotta find those diamonds in the rough... That linebacker from FLA we got a commit from...only played 1 year.... Gotta take a chance on someone with his "POTENTIAL".....

It would be great to see 3 -4 stars across the board, its not necessary.

I know ... I know. Just thinking out loud. My competitive nature sometimes gets the better of me. I want us to be ahead of our rivals in the recruiting game, too! Like I said, I trust the coaching staff to decide who has the potential to fit into what they are trying to do. In any event, it'll usually take a few years before we can tell who can be a playa, and who can't. Sometimes you get lucky and some freshmen will step up big-time (like Fenroy!).

Thanks for that link...he is impressive on tape. Seems to always be around the ball which is good and he also seems to have good speed for his size. Looks like we found a diamond in the rough with this one.

BTW, how are the Cyclones doing this recruiting season? Best of luck to them.

It's going pretty well, although the Clones have missed out on some OL recruits and the offensive line after next year is looking pretty ugly. Offensive line is such a critical area, they're going to need to find some diamonds in the rough!

Lamar Waiters wanted to play football for the University of Louisiana so badly, he drove 26 hours to get to Lafayette. "Maybe that'll let people know I want to be a part of this team," Waiters said. "I want to be able to step in and make an impact." The 6-foot-3, 284-pound defensive tackle enrolled at UL this week after a two-year career at Pierce College in Los Angeles. He had visited the UL campus only one week earlier. "It was a love-at-first-sight type of thing," Waiters said. "It felt like the place I wanted to play. There's a great coaching staff here and I got a chance to know some of the players. And everyone was nice and showed a lot of school spirit ... people were coming up to us in restaurants and talking about the football team." Waiters was a second-team All-Western State Conference at defensive tackle in 2004 after playing in the offensive front in his freshman season in 2003. He spent the 2005 academic year at Portland State but did not play football, and has two years of eligibility remaining even though he hasn't played organized football since the end of the 2004 season. Funny you say that... because I know for a fact I talked to this fella at Raising Canes. I work at Canes on late nights, and when all the college students leave the clubs many times they go eat at Canes. Joe Bradley, Kevin Belton, as well as a few other UL football players took this recruit out to the club then came eat later. I had a good talk with them about the season that night, and Lamar told me that he loved everything hes seen about UL and we were #1 on his list of possible schools to attend. Glad to know we all helped! Keep it up Cajun faithful.

Well, I did a little digging on Sunshinepreps.net, so I was able to get video on Verlin Moore and Sharrick Moore, (no relation I don't think). I also got a pic of Fred Davis, the kids got some size: And also I threw in some film on Randall Antoine from Westgate, he's going to Univ. of Houston and from the looks of it the Cougars got them one exciting player. Verlin Moore looks bigger on film than I thought he would, and seems to have good moves and average speed. Sharrick Moore is pretty impressive also, just as long as he learns to stay low off the ball he should be fine, he has good quickness and seems to have good speed also. They both look like they'll be able to help us out, Sharrick will be an exciting player to watch grow up and get better. And yes if your wondering I did look for film on the rest of our Florida recruits but, these were the only two I could find. I got a picture of Fred Davis and of Frantz Accime but, the pic of Frantz made him look bad so I didn't put it up.
