Sounds like we got a great player for the next 4-5 years, I think once we get a few more players on both lines this recruiting class will be a great one!

D’Anthony Smith, Pickering, DL — Smith has turned into a celebrity at Pickering High School as on any given day you can see coaches from all over the state coming to visit the 6-3, 310-pound defensive lineman. Smith has a long list of schools interested and his top seven have always been Tulane, Louisiana Tech, UL-Lafayette, ULM, Northwestern State, McNeese State and Grambling State. Just about all of them have offered full scholarships to the lineman. Smith has already visited ULM and Tech recently and will make his decision after his visit to Tulane in January.
“This whole process is a humbling experience for me,” Smith said. “It is a long and hard road to go through, but it will pay off for me in the end.”
Smith added that, “It will come down to the educational program and playing time on his decision on where to play college football next season.”
- Wes Tunnufi Sauvao, Leesville, DL — Savao has narrowed down his choices to ULM, Central Florida and Arkansas as his final three, but has received attention from New Mexico State, Utah State, NSU and ULL.
Sauvao, like everyone else said, “This is really frustrating. You have coaches stopping by and seeing you, but you don’t know which ones are really interested in you. I am going to decide which school is best for me and my family.”
Sauvao has qualified with an 18 on the ACT and has a 3.2 GPA.
Neither one sounds like they were interested all that much in UL as neither took a visit to UL. We hopefully are tooting the Practice Facility and are on as big(good) or BIGGER(better) players.
