Clutch I may be way off base, but the evil empire just received verbal commitments from two of the top RB prospects in the state for 06' and with the two signees from the last recruiting class that will probably be RS, their stable will be pretty full. Doesn't mean that he wouldn't end up there or Ole Miss anyway....Originally Posted by Clutch0364
 each year i continue to see people ask for a 1000 yard rusher.....well i tell you what! i will bet you a soda, okay, (and i've said this before) you say who your 1000 yard rusher is going to be and i will take (3) guys to rush for 500 yards a piece, lets see who win the bet
you see guys i'll take a 1200 - 1500 yards and i don't care who got them, what you want is guys who will run hard, get positive yards, and not turn over the football, i will take this any day over (1) guy running for 1000 yards but then again that's me and i'm a little (.......)you know, just "run baby run" gotta lov it.

On Rivals.com in an article about him though he stated that LSU was his favorite right now. This kind of stuff can change but I just can't see him going anywhere but LSUA&M right now. I watched him play a few times and he is the best running back I have seen. I played with Dwight Lindon and Tyler Beniot, against Alley Broussard, Justin Vincent, Devry Henderson and a few others from around this area but Keiland without a doubt in my mind is the best I have seen. He has speed and power and with that being said if he goes somewhere besides here I would love to see him running over LSU's defense for Ole Miss lol
The hardest worker on that list though goes to Dwight Lindon because with all he accomplished in high school and even now I have never met someone more humble or as well respected as him.
I want to see us dominate team with our running game. If it means 1 guys gets most of the touches thats fine but it doesn't matter to me if it's 1 guy or 5 guys as long as when teams are watchign film they have to say how are we going to stop this teams running game.
My take on this is no one has 5 good tailbacks. The best player should get the majority of the carries, the same as other positions. The problem is so far, no one at that position has distanced theirselves from the others.Originally Posted by Clutch0364
my point is and i say again, so has coach.....he runs the ball by committee and i didn't say five(5) but! HELLO, yes we doOriginally Posted by geauxboy
The problem with your assertion and proposition Oldman is the understanding of the autonomy of a running back and what causes a running back to be effective. In order for a running back to be viable, he has to develop a feel for the game. He has to be able to gauge the speed of various players at different positions on the oppossing defense. Expose their weakness and counter attack with his abilities. Usually for this to happen, it requires 20 plus carries in one given game. This is why most running backs who are the featured back in a system really become dominate in the later quarters of the game. This is when you see the long gains of 20 yards or greater. Absent an offensive line that is 5 stars across the board, and an offense that doesn't use wideouts....I seriously doubt if you will ever see 3 or more running backs sharing time garnish that many rushing yards...you gotta figure, the average 1000+ yard rusher carries the ball a least 200+ times in a 12 game season...requires at least 15-20 touches a game. Using "reasonable" logic...If we had 3 RB's that rushed for 500+ yards each in a season...a featured RB would probably rush for 2000 yards in that same system! IMOOriginally Posted by Oldman

It's a nice article about football statistics...
I'd like about 2000 yards of rushing. 1000 from the starter, 300-500 from the guy that spells him, and another 500-700 from Babb.Originally Posted by Oldman
