BTW the High School Preview was really cool with the Rumble theme and the boxing gloves carried throughout-----just thinking that it would have been perfect timing for Monday's LSU Preview----Maybe a little more KICK boxing would be appropriate---I mean if the "Athletic" shoe fits Wear it!!!!! Yea I know this is mean but we have taken and still take much from the corn dogs----wait maybe a corn dog theme---next year!!!!

Sidenote but was anyone else's HS preview section missing about half the section? Two years in a row I get screwed on the HS preview. Last year it wasn't even in the paper I got.

The write up was fantastic and it really got quality detailed information. There was no mix of LSU garbage either and it really got me excited.

You don't have to look at this from outside of your Cajun sunglasses because it's not your job, but there are other topics worth covering in the daily section. Please see my above response about "centerpiece" packages and the issues that come into play there in terms of photos, story placement, etc.

Everyone here knows that you think it's wrong for the Cajuns to not get top billing every day. Believe me, I totally get it. But the fact that you're questioning my "mindset" after 3.5 years of busting my butt to improve the daily coverage of the university, and in many ways neglecting aspects of my personal life to do so, just makes you sound absolutely delusional.

If any of you would like to continue this conversation, might I suggest we do so in a personal message. I'd rather not take away from Tim's work anymore in this thread than I already have today (although my intent, again, was just to provide some background into how some decisions are made in the newsroom).
    You have no idea.....LOL!

Boomer, I just wanted to add some reality to the situation given that you tend to live in the moment. This was the season preview for Cajun football. (LSU's runs Monday.) It's totally unrealistic to expect Tim to provide as much content (basically six stories) on the Cajuns or for the DA to give them as much prominence every day of the year. Prep sports, the Saints and LSU are also going to get time as the focus on the front page (known as "centerpieces" and "focals" in the newspaper world) moving forward. You'll probably still be disappointed when it happens, but I figured I'd let you know.
Tim's articles in the DA make you want to ask "Josh who?"

Just kidding, but Tim, if you peruse this board, welcome to Lafayette, Ragin' Cajun teritory and very nice work!
