We went 3-9 because we weren't good. Can't sugar coat it. This year, everything is different and last year doesn't matter.

Hudspeth's biography is on the RaginCajuns.com site under Teams - Football - Coaches.

As for what offense and what defensive alignment we will run... we don't know... practices are closed... Coach Gundy. But... you're a man... you're forty... you don't need to know what offense and defense we run!

    Enjoy the game... Geaux Cajuns!!!

Wow, I hope your fans who are coming to tailgate with "Coach Gundy" like to talk football more than you. Thanks for the insight...

Haha we love talking and hearing anything sports, especially football. Unfortunately we the fans don't really know what our football team is going to look like. In an attempt to keep as much information away from your coaches as possible, our local media has been kept out of practices. This has left all of us, you and I alike clueless about what schemes or personnel we will be running. Leaving me even more excited for kickoff Saturday. So we can finally have something to talk about!

From all accounts, it won't be much different than year's past except that we will be lining up under center occasionally instead of being exclusively a shotgun team.

You mean that we might not do a qb draw 4 times in a row...I'm scared...

They'll talk about as much as they know. Seriously, Hud is keeping most of the details tight-lipped. We ran a zone option read version of the spread for many years prior. We know Hud likes to run a little more than pass... but he's mostly been studying the talent at his disposal and tweaking the system to match. As you know, we're ranked extremely low - mostly with the lack of returning starters (and we are not that concerned about that), 3-9 record last year, and a new head coach and staff. Our new coach has been more vocal about his focus on conditioning, physical and mental, so that we do not run out of steam half way through the 3rd quarter - an issue that has plagued us in the past few seasons.

We've also been bit by an excessive and untimely injury bug over our past 4 to 5 years. We believe that had something to do with conditioning. From all indications, our team may be in the best shape of any Cajun team that ever took the field.

We, naturally, are most concerned this week with the exceptional OSU offense. Our defense, as you may have already read, gave up a lot of yardage and points last year, with a understandbly poor pressure and sack stat. From a personnel standpoint, we are not bad in the LB and DB area... it's our DL that seriously underperformed last year. We required way too many downfield tackles out of our secondary. That is our hope for improvement this season.

We do believe our offense can move the ball against most BCS defenses. A very big key for UL is that we move the chains on offense and keep OSU's offense off the field, and our defense on the sidelines, as much as humanly possible. We need a big boost out of our special teams and punt coverage units to have a better year this year. Field position has not been our forte.

Realistically, to keep it respectable for us, we need an overwhelming positive turnover stat. I know you wanted to know if we'll have a 3-4 or 4-3 defense... and what to look for offensively... but we are more curious to see what we actually do in this game than you are. Our two top QBs major strengths are oppositve of one another. Hud hasn't truly indicated which one will start. He may play a two QB system. That alone makes it hard for us to tell you what we'll do offensively.

Enjoy the game... Coach Gundy... and Geaux Cajuns!!!

Wow, and I thought I kept our fans in the dark.
