The Real Reason why we went 3-9 last year

The players did not believe in Coach Bustle and his plans for the team. So he did not get the full amount of exertion, participation, heart, and determination that Coach Hudspeth is.

"I was excited that he came in talking about winning right now, because I'm a senior, and I've been around, we've been around, for seasons where we 6-6 (in 2008 and 2009), and last year, coming off a 3-9 season, where the attitude is just 'let's turn it around a bit at a time.' But it's got to be now. There's a sense of urgency for us.

I cant wait for the bowl game, strap in and enjoy the ride!!!

He did about as well as he could with what he was handed. But long term it was hard to buy into Bustle.

I will always appreciate what Bustle did for this program. Anyone who says he hurt the program more than he helped it was not around for the baldwin years. But Bustle could only take us so far.

the only thing Bustle did that was a mistake was not adjust his goals from rebuilding to maximizing productivity (or winning) out of his players. He did not motivate them enough and that is my point. If the players are not behind you or do not believe in you, you will not be successful, no matter how much talent you have.

I agree that Bustle will not win any awards for being the best motivational speaker. But that doesn't mean other coaches didn't try. Also, at some point, these men/players shouldn't need to be motivated to get ready for games at this level IMO. Getting embarrassed on a regular basis should be enough.

I believe humans in general need to be motivated at all levels of their lives.
No one can just be productive on command....maybe for a little while, but not in the long run. You will see more going through the motions rather than actually devoting hard work and effort if a person isn't 100% committed to the beliefs or goals of something.

RECRUITING RECRUITING RECRUITING-------THE MAN COULD NOT RECRUIT---I THINK THAT HE HAD ENOUGH TO SELL-----HUD GETS IT ---AND HOW!!!!!!!!------just think of the attributes that are behooving for a winning coach to have----Got to be in a situation where it is possible----Not Vandy in the SEC-----N'West in the big 10-----doesn't apply to UL in the Belt-----Got to love and be able to recruit---X and Os----Organization----leadership-----commitment-----PASSION!!!!! I think I just described the head coach of Louisiana!!!!!! And I am going to add another asset to HUD----He a good looking and although a wee bit short pretty handsome guy---Dooley the same at Tech!!!! The RC wives would need to verify this!!!!! LOL

Its not bashing Coach Bustle, its stating facts that the players weren't sold on rebuilding and the result was a 3-9 record.

Where did Hudspeth come from? Can you guys enlighten me as to what kind of offense he runs, and what defensive alignments we'll see Saturday in Stillwater?
