An Avoyelles Parish shooting suspect was found dead in St. Martin Parish in the Atchafalaya Basin Wednesday morning.
Deputies now tell us the body is that of 27-year-old Jontrell Ford.
Since Monday, Avoyelles Parish deputies have been searching for Ford after they say he shot another man early Monday morning at a Simmesport nightclub.
Sheriff Doug Anderson says deputies didn't find the Ford but they did find his pick-up truck, abandoned on the Simmesport bridge.

According to Sheriff Anderson, Ford called his grandfather that morning and said he was going to, "kill himself" because he had just killed another man.
Sheriff Anderson however, says the 21-year-old shooting victim was shot in the foot and did not suffer any life threatening injuries.

Rescue teams searched the Atchafalaya River for Ford's body Monday afternoon but didn't find any clues, that is until Wednesday morning.
A tug-boat operator spotted a body floating in the river near Bayou Chene nearly 60-miles south of Simmesport.
St. Martin Parish deputies confirmed the body was that of 27-year-old Jontrell Ford.
Ford's family chose not to comment on his death at this time.
