The best project was tearing down the bleachers for Tony, saving over 10K for baseball.

The part you speak of is in between the metamorphosis but unfortunately, it was left out.

What about when we helped prep the football locker rooms for renovation? We tore down walls, pulled electrical cables and ripped up carpets (that gad been glued down), hauled debris, etc. That work went on for a week or more. That had to save some bucks. I seem to remember Mr. Venable supervising much of that work.

BTW, wearing my '07 Fan Day Volunteer t-shirt as I type this. That was the first one we fans and coaches' wives (led by Cydra Wingerter and Christine Fourquier) took over and did with the skydivers, signing tables, etc.

Turbine we had some earlier clean up days than that as WE started doing baseball and softball, then later did track, baseball, tennis and softball. Then it expanded again into include football with painting of the murals and parts of the stadium. There was even one where the Baseball 1st and 3rd base bleachers were taken down to make way for the current bleachers and some of those bleachers are now in the outfield at Lamson park!!!

I am with Zee, I do not miss these work days.

Correct. I remember spending a couple of days helping out with redoing the UL bushes. Pulling out old landscape timers and replacing the limestone. CDeb headed that one up. About 2000 or so. They were in the process of installing the north endzone scoreboard.

I was involved in that one as well. I swore after my knees finally recovered that I would do anything else up on the work days, but never work on those bushes again. Working on that angle killed my knees.

Thanks for filling in the pre-2002 blanks everyone.

I had no idea Baldwin was such a motivator.

I wonder if CaliCajun still has ways of digging up old Delphi threads that may have been started on the subject.
