I know him. I did ask Mr. Raggio about the RPI stats and he just wouldn't answer the question. Must be something wrong with the guy.

Yep...I hear Mr. Raggio is just a crazy old recluse. Eccentric yet good with numbers.Originally Posted by gorcajun

Go sell arrogant somewhere else.
Continuing to look at the success of the Ragin Cajuns through the Pentathlelam, only the Texas Longhorns have a national championship (baseball) to accompany their first place winning percentage on the field.
North Carolina, even with the Men's basketball title achieved the fifth best success rate.
Baylor, in Women's basketball can only reach 14th place in the 5-sport criteria.
Michigan, winning the Softball championship is rated 16th.
USC, as mighty a football team as they have had does not even qualify for the Pentathlelam, because they do not support a softball program. Even with counting their 4-sport program they occupy the 7th position for winning percentage in the second tier of universities that only have four sports.
Oklahoma, who lost to USC in the BCS title game, does have all Pentathlelam sports and is 11th in winning percentage.
The Florida Gators is the 19th most successful program based on winning percentage in 2004-05.
Illinois, lossing to the Tarheels in Men's basketball comes in 38th place.
Michigan State, second only to Baylor in Women's basketball is in 46th place.
UCLA, again a powerhouse breaks the top 100 Pentathlelam in 92nd slot.
As you can see, some of the most storied and powerful athletic programs, achieve greatness with national titles, and those victories should not be taken lightly, but only one Texas surpasses the Ragin Cajuns on the field success.
I cannot emphasize enough the uniqueness of the 72.14% winning percentage, but also the fact that the Ragin Cajuns with respectable records from all teams is ranked third.
LSU CRIED when USL became LOUISIANA. They'll cry when LOUISIANA beats them in a baseball game. They'll CRY when anything good happens to LOUISIANA.
Get over it LSU... our governor might have soild out, but our community is growing. Let me use hockey for an example here....
Louisiana Icegators vs Baton Rouge Kingfish .... who lasted longer? Who beat the hell outta who more? We got fan power. Our city will continue to grow and LOUISIANA will be looking over at LSU A&M as they cry about how we got there.
