I can't forget football. I love it. I want all our programs to succeed but I will never stop supporting this team. Right now the losing taste bitter but several win in March sure would taste sweet.

I see the basketball schedual is out. anyone know about TV games? We have the ESPN bracket buster here and the one @denver is being carried by fox rocky mountain. Any other? The Charlotte game seem like it could and the Tennessee game seems like it should.

Football does not always "drive" the finances and get most of the exposure in D-1 programs. A few teams come to mind....Duke, North Carolina, Kansas. None of these schools have top notch football teams, but on the other hand....none of them are worst than ours. But there are many that do, Michigan St., Michigan, Maryland, Florida, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., UCLA, and many others. There comes a time when 1 sport will surpass the others. And when we talk about Louisiana basketball and football, the 2 dont compare. UL basketball is on the brink of becoming a contender year in and year out. Football is barely on the platform of compeating for the Herbert Heyman Kickoff Classic or whatever you want to call it. Better name "Barn-Burner with a D-1AA School". But anyway, to cut to the point, its time we invest more money in a winner. I recall several months ago some post of luxury suits at Cajun Field??? HA!! For what? And some of you are going to say recruiting and to generate money. The way to recruit and to generate money, three letters....W I N !!! Something our football team needs to try to experience.

I figured someone would bring up Duke in particular. They are an exception to the rule. As good as North Carolina's basketball is take a hard look at their football revenues and I'd wager it dwarfs basketball. Sure there are teams whose "name sport" is something other than football; but the real revenue generators is most every case is football. I'm not saying forget the others; just than in most cases the others (especially non-revenue generating sports) have a chance to thrive because of football money; and a lot of that is bigger now due to the BCS system.

  4. Default Basketball Practice Ragin' Cajuns

These were taken well before 8am this morning and most of the team was not arriving till I had to leave. (well before 8am)

I was only there for 3 minutes so I only had time for a couple of pics. The rest of the team arrived as I was walking out. Still well before 8am.

  5. 1) #22 Ross Mouton, coach Rennie Bailey in the background.
  6. 2) #11 Chris Cameron, #30 Maurice Barksdale. (Will and Chase redshorts)
  7. 3) #31 Rhett Hebert, coach Rennie Bailey in the background.
  8. 4) #22 Ross Mouton squares and shoots

Thanks do we know who 30 is? I was comparing #30 to a highschool pic I have of Maurice.

    Won't make that mistake again . . . I hope.
